Miray was asked to provide earthquake relief housing for 1,056 Turkish people, mainly families, as well as all meals and 24-hour medical services. 

The ship is currently at Iskenderun in the province of Hatay, which was struck hard by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

More Miray vessels could be deployed

A spokesperson for Miray Cruises told Seatrade Cruise News, ‘Since there are so many children onboard, Miray has also organised special activities and programs for them.’ 

The 400-cabin Gemini will be based at Iskenderun until March 15, and the line said it will provide additional vessels if required.  

According to Miray Cruises’ website, Gemini — the sole ship depicted — is scheduled to begin operating short Greek Islands cruises starting in the spring.

Parent company is Miray International provides cruise ship hotel management and floating hotel management.
