Witnesses are reported to have seen the man go over from the 15th deck late Tuesday evening local time, about 900 kilometres south of Hawaii.
Search and rescue
The ship’s crew immediately launched a search and rescue operation, while the US Coast Guard searched the area with an HC-130 Hercules aircraft and issued an urgent call to any ships in the area to assist.
Quantum of the Seas has resumed the voyage and is due to arrive in Honolulu Friday after calling at Kailua-Kona.
